This was our first job for service station proprietors, Penny Petroleum, on the East Lancashire Road in Astley. The client wanted the store to be enlarged to create room for more refrigeration and impulse products. This necessitated the removal of several walls, including a section of the shop front and the installation of a new larger powder coated shop front with an automatic sliding door. We also created a new housing for the Costa coffee machine and Country Choice hot foot unit, installed new air conditioning and remote refrigeration to the client’s spec, which required powder coating. The focal point of the store is the new bespoke counter, which we accommodated by removing a wall and relocating the kitchen area. Behind the counter we were tasked with back lighting the spirits display. We designed a bespoke concept to do so using RGBW LED lighting, with an added change of colour facility, which the client controls at the counter position. A new floor, ceiling and decoration internally and externally completed the re-fit to leave a high end petrol station.
